Program Overview
Miami Arts Charter’s Theatre program offers rigorous training in both acting and technical theatre, preparing students for collegiate and professional opportunities. Acting students develop skills in classical and contemporary techniques, movement, voice, and text analysis while gaining performance experience in full-scale productions, competitions, and student-led projects. They also study audition techniques, character development, and directing, allowing them to become well-rounded theatre artists.
Technical Theatre exists both as part of the Theatre program and as its own independent strand, where students receive hands-on training in costume design and construction, scenic design and construction, lighting and sound design, publicity and marketing, directing, stage management, and producing. Through mainstage productions and student theatre, where students can write, direct, cast, and produce their own shows, MAC Theatre fosters creativity and technical expertise, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the industry.
