MUSICAL THEATRE
Program Overview
Miami Arts Charter’s Musical Theatre program provides high school students with a comprehensive training ground for students passionate about the art of storytelling through song, dance, and acting. Students receive rigorous instruction in vocal technique, music theory, and multiple dance styles, while also taking dedicated acting courses to develop strong performance skills. Through solo work, ensemble training, and collaborative projects, students refine their artistry and gain the versatility required for success in the industry.
Beyond the classroom, students apply their skills in full-scale mainstage productions, competitions, and workshops with industry professionals. Miami Arts Charter School mounts one to two mainstage musical productions per year, allowing students to refine their performance skills, gain experience in different roles, and develop the stamina and versatility required for a career in musical theatre. Additionally, students participate in student theatre, where they have opportunities to direct, choreograph, and produce their own work, preparing them for the demands of collegiate programs and professional careers in musical theatre.
