Program Overview
The Visual Arts Department provides art students with skills and techniques in various media while focusing on concepts and ideas. In middle school, students focus on basic skills, concepts and theory in 2-D and 3-D art and design. High school students advance to a diverse curriculum in drawing, painting, photography, digital art, film and new genres.
Unique to this program is that Miami Arts has an esteemed visual arts faculty comprised of professional artists recognized in their field. Classes are supplemented by visiting artists as well as field trips to museums and galleries. Students also have exhibition opportunities throughout the year; on campus and in other professional and academic venues.
