Honors Societies

Miami Arts Charter School is proud to offer a variety of nationally recognized Honor Societies that celebrate academic excellence, leadership, character, and service. From the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society to subject-specific organizations, these groups provide students with valuable opportunities to deepen their involvement on campus and in the community.

Participation in Honor Societies enriches the high school experience by fostering a sense of achievement, responsibility, and belonging. Students gain access to leadership roles, service projects, and enrichment activities that develop both personal and academic growth. Involvement in these societies also enhances college and scholarship applications, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, initiative, and civic engagement—qualities that set students apart in their post-secondary pursuits.

Club Blurb: The National Honor Society at Miami Arts Charter School recognizes students who exemplify the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in NHS is one of the most prestigious honors a student can achieve, reflecting a deep commitment not only to academic excellence but also to ethical responsibility and active citizenship.

NHS members participate in meaningful service projects, school-wide initiatives, and leadership opportunities that enrich both the MAC community and the world beyond. Involvement in NHS strengthens college and scholarship applications, showcasing a student’s integrity, motivation, and willingness to lead and serve. At MAC, our NHS chapter helps develop the next generation of thoughtful, compassionate, and high-achieving leaders.

How to Join NHS: Eligibility for the National Honor Society (NHS) at Miami Arts Charter School is based on a student’s academic achievement, leadership potential, service involvement, and strong character. Students in eligible grade levels who meet the required GPA threshold are invited to apply during the nomination window.

The selection process includes a formal application, teacher recommendations, and a review by the NHS Faculty Council. Applicants must demonstrate a consistent record of service, leadership, and ethical conduct both in and out of the classroom. Meeting the academic requirement alone does not guarantee membership—selection is based on a holistic review of all four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.

Students who are selected will be formally inducted during a special ceremony and are expected to uphold the values and responsibilities of NHS throughout their membership.
