Film audition requirements
FILM REQUIREMENTS (HIGH SCHOOL ONLY)
Students auditioning into the Miami Arts Charter School Film Department must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry. Students must bring the video clip on a USB or hard drive and the required portfolios to the audition.
The audition process takes approximately 20 minutes and consists of two parts:
1. Portfolio Review
- All photos must be presented professionally in a portfolio binder with protective sleeves. Photographs must be printed no smaller than 8X10 inches and be presented with no more than one image per page.
2. Interview
- Please note that our Film faculty will ask questions related to the portfolio to learn more about the applicant's motivation and purpose.
High School Audition Requirements:
- 3 Photos that tell a story
- 2 Photos with dramatic lighting
- A 60 second video clip that expresses one of the following “Joy”, “Isolation”, “Freedom”, “Serenity”, or "Fear"
- A one page treatment of an original story that consists of a title, logline, plot summary and main characters. (Optional) Any additional script samples, storyboards, or video/photo samples that demonstrate cinematic ability are not required, but are helpful in determining the student's talent.
